WALT to sequence and group similar ideas. It’s tricky trying to remember how it all happened and getting it in the right order. I feel like I need more practice.

I used lots of different shapes. I made a letterbox and a tree.

Te Tuhi Colour Wheels

We went to Te Tuhi and we learnt about the colour wheel. We learned that the primary colours are blue, red and yellow. We learnt that secondary colours are green, orange and purple. We learnt about tertiary colours too! We painted lime green, red orange and red purple too. Some of us thought it was tricky and some of us thought it was easy. When we made our colour wheel lady bugs the curvy cutting was really tricky. I am going to practice my curvy cutting more.

I found it really difficult to put my ideas in the right order. The whole thing was hard!

I Am Learning To Use The Word Folder

I like using the word folder. It helps me to do good writing because you learn how to write words and spell them right. I have circled the words in my weekend story that I found in the word folder. I know which words I can find in the word folder.

I Am Learning To Draw A Cat

I used circles on the tail, I used zig zag lines and curvy lines on the body. I really like the head and the ears. The trickiest bit was using the dye and not going over the lines.

I Am Learning About Fractions

I know that half of six flowers is three flowers. I know half of a rectangle and the pieces have to be equal. I got the symbol confused for half and quarter. I couldn’t remember a quarter to colour the rectangle. I am going to practice fractions more.

I Am Learning To Summarise Information

I am learning to find answers to questions and summarise non-fiction books. This worksheet is from a non-fiction book I read about cats. I answered all these questions and then I was able to explain what the book was about and write down two important things I found out about cats. I liked this book because cats catch things! It was tricky for me to work out the most important information.

I Am Learning My Forwards & Backwards Number Sequences

I showed my teacher that I know my numbers before and after between 1 and 20.
 

I Am Learning To Speak To An Audience

On Fridays we have Show & Tell and I can bring something from home to share with our class. When we are speaking our focus is using a loud, clear voice and looking at our audience. I showed our class my toy car. Next time I will make my voice louder. I liked sharing news!

I Am Learning To Use Capital Letters And Full Stops

Our learning intention: We are learning to use capital letters and full stops in the right places.

Our success criteria: Our sentences start with a capital letter - We have used a capital letter for the word ‘I’ - We have used a capital letter for names - We have used full stops at the end of our sentences.

My reflection: I used capital letters at the beginning of my sentences and for the word I and Saturday. My next learning step is to put my full stops in the right place.

I Am Learning To Draw Myself

First, I sketched myself in my art book, making sure I included all of my features. Then Mrs Millar enlarged my drawing to A3 on the photocopier and I outlined it using a black vivid marker. I coloured my portrait in using pastels. It was tricky to choose the right colours for my hair and eyes!

This is me in Room 11. On our Hive of Learning wall display I am a flower. We talked about learning and I said: “Learning is fantastic. It feels awesome and so great!”
